Before you set off into the woods, make sure that you have a pack prepared with food like energy bars or trail mix to keep you moving, plenty of water, dry, protected matches, a space blanket to keep you warm and to signal for help during the day, an LED flashlight or LED lantern for use at night, a compass, and the best survival knife that you can find or afford. When camping, it becomes extremely essential that you keep flashlight parts also in close proximity.

Beginners are advised to choose camping locations closer to home so that is easier to fall back in case they face any problems. Many of our greatest thinkers believed in the power of nature as well. Hiking to the top of a mountain is incredibly rewarding.

In that sense you can keep your camp closer together around it. To start, you can get by with basic hiking equipment such as rations, tents and sleeping bags. Be aware that the glass globe of all gas and propane lanterns get extremely hot and can give you a serious burn.
